3 hour Slow Cook Lasagna

I just got done making my best slow cook Lasagna ever! Actually I say that every time I make this, the Lasagna gets better and better every time.

As my husband said “Don’t buy that store brought Lasagna ever again, this is to good to ever eat that again”.

I agree!

And yes you can use uncooked noodles, you’ll be amazed at how done they get, mine fall apart and this Lasagna cooks in 3 – 3 1/2 hrs tops! Simple, easy slow cook lasagna that I think taste better in the slow cooker then baked, just my opinion.

So here are the ingredients for a successful Lasgna made in your slow cooker, crock pot or instant pot, which has a slow cook setting.

What you’ll need

5 – 6 quart slow cooker

NOTE – This should feed a family of four and I don’t know the calories or any other nutritional fact about this dish except that it tastes GREAT! There’s probably some carbs, gluten and fat int his recipe so if you’re on a diet this may not be for you 🙂

Ingredients

1 package of uncooked lasagna noodles
1 can (14.4 ounces) crushed tomatoes
3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 Tablespoons of Dried Oregano
1/2 teaspoon of sea salt
1/4 teaspoon of Red Pepper Flakes
2 containers (15 ounces each) of fresh Ricotta
2 cups or 8 ounces of grated Mozzarella Cheese
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan Cheese

Optional

5 ounces or about 6 cups of baby Spinach or 1/2 lb or a lb (however much meat you want) of Sausage or Hamburger

Directions

In a medium bowl combine the tomatoes, garlic, red pepper, salt and a dash of pepper if you want.

In a second slightly larger size bowl mix the 3 cheeses – Ricotta, Mozzarella and Parmesan.

If you’re adding meat now is the time to brown the meat through on the stove and then add to the tomato mixture above.

In the bottom of your slow cooker spread a thin layer of tomato sauce to cover the bottom.

Next add your Lasagna noodles. Use how ever many noodles you want that cover the bottom, you may have to break them.

Spread the sauce over the noddles.

Next top with the cheese mixture. If adding spinach or another vegetable you can add that next. If adding meat remember it is already in your sauce.

Repeat this until you have as many layers as you want or are out of sauce and cheese mix.

Try ending with the meat sauce as your last layer. I do about 4 layers.

Cook on low heat for about 3 – 3 1/2 hrs or until noodles are tender in the center. Check with a knife or fork.

Ten minutes before the end you can top with Mozzarella cheese if you want.

That’s it! Once I started making this in the slow cooker I will not go back to doing it in the oven. This is so easy and simple.
