This is an easy and delicious recipe to make while camping because it only has 4 ingredients and takes about 20 minutes from start to finish.
Enjoy warm cinnamon sugar coffeecake with your morning coffee Or it can be your dessert late evening while sitting around the campfire.
Cinnamon Sugar Coffee Cake
Cut butter into tiny pieces over Bisquick mix in medium bowl.
Toss lightly with fork until butter is blended into the mixture.
Make a well in the center of your mixture.
Pour in milk and cinnamon sugar in the well you just made, now stir with a fork just until mixture is moistened.
Turn dough into a lightly greased 8-inch skillet.
Pat the mixture down evenly into the skillet with your fingers or a fork.
Cook, covered, on very low heat, 12 to 15 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Topping: Spread the top of the coffee cake with melted butter and cinnamon sugar, cover all of it or do this with individual pieces.
Wait about 5 minutes before cutting your slice of warm coffee cake. Caution – it may be crumbling if cut to soon but still good with a hot cup of coffee or tea.
You May Want To Know…
Camp stoves can be tricky to control the right amount of heat so be sure the flame is low and watch it closely because it will burn on the bottom if the heat is too high.
You can make this at home if you want, freeze it and when you’re ready to go take it out, either put it in the cooler or store it at room temperature. If you want to eat it warm just wrap in foil and place near hot coals at the campfire or on top of a hot grill.
If making at home on an electric stove you can turn the heat up to medium instead of low, just keep checking to make sure it’s not burning on the bottom.
