Happy National Hammock Day! In celebration I thought I’d go looking at hammocks that are made for camping. It’s becoming more and more popular so I was curious as to how comfortable are they and do people really use them.
Here’s what I found….
First of all let me just say I’m not convinced yet that I’d sleep in a hammock on my next camping trip so no I haven’t tried this yet but according to the Amazon reviews people who have tried the Eagles Nest Outfitters Double Hammock love it!
In fact there are no 1 or 2 ratings, only 3 and above, check out the Amazon Reviews here.
This camping hammock does look comfortable but I’m not sure my back could take sleeping on it all night long.
We actually brought 2 hammocks home from our trip to Mexico (where I took the top picture above) but we never used them.
We had big plans to hang them on the back porch and chill in the evening with a cold beverage in hand, relaxing like we did on that wonderful vacation.
Instead there’re now hanging in my son back yard where the grand kids are having fun chilling outside after a long day at school.
Hammocks have been around for a very long time and were actually created for sleeping purposes. According to Wikipedia “The hammock is often seen as a symbol of summer, leisure, relaxation and simple, easy living”. YES! My kind of living!
So do you use a hammock when camping? What kind, do share in the comments below.
P.S.Here’s a list of dufferebt styles and types of hammocks you can use for camping, sleeping or just relaxing outside in the back yard,
